CAN BASS FEDERATION ANGLER JOEL ST. GERMAIN BEAT CHARLIE
MOORE?

Charlie Moore from Massachusetts has an ego as large as
Boston Harbor. Charlie Moore doesn't think he's pretty good
at fishing, he thinks he's fantastic, and he's got a TV show
to prove it!

"Beat Charlie Moore" is a new series on ESPN Outdoors where
Charlie will gladly take on all comers and accept any
challenge involving a rod and reel.

On next week's episode, 2003 Bassmaster Classic qualifier
and Yamamoto pro Joel St. Germain challenges the bigmouth
from Beantown to a mano y mano fishing tournament on Lake
Winnipesaukee. Heaviest stringer wins! Anything goes!

Now Joel finished 29th in the 2003 Bassmaster Classic, 1st
in the Eastern Division in the 2003 BASS Federation
Nationals, and 11th in the 2002 BASS Federation Eastern
Divisionals, but...

Does BASS Federation angler and Yamamoto pro Joel St.
Germain have what it takes to beat Charlie Moore? Or will
Charlie Moore whoop Joel in front of millions of TV viewers?

Tune in to ESPN2 next week to find out!

MISTER RIPPIN' - BY GARY DOBYNS WITH JON STORM

This week we've got a "brand new" reprint of a great article
from the January 2003 issue of Bass West USA magazine for
you.

Jerkbaits (also called ripbaits) are especially valuable in
cold and cool water when other lure types can be less
effective.

If you'd like a double dose of rippin' wisdom from Dobyns,
also read:

Seriously study the above two articles on jerkbaits by Gary
Dobyns. He's the uncontested master of Western Rippin'.
Study the above articles and absorb, in full, one of Dobyn's
most important, and deadly, bass techniques.
