LURES FOR A CURE FUNDS CANCER RESEARCH

The Lure For a Cure kit is designed to help fund cancer
research. This program started with a limited edition Heddon
lure kit last year. This year, Bomber Lures is providing the
Lure for a Cure kit. It features three limited edition
Bomber Pro Model Suspending jerkbaits in colors designed by
top pros - Terry Segraves, Peter Thilveros and the legendary
Roland Martin. The lures work in fresh and saltwater.

"My immediate family has not been touched by cancer, but
seeing friends go through it, I plan to do my best to keep
it that way," stated Roland Martin of his involvement with
the Lure for a Cure kit.

Sales proceeds from each lure kit will go to The V
Foundation for Cancer Research, started in 1993 by ESPN and
Jim Valvano, the popular basketball coach and commentator
who lost his battle with cancer 11 years ago.

Nick Valvano, brother of Jim Valvano and V Foundation CEO,
applauded the anglers and companies who have committed
themselves to fighting the disease. "The fight against
cancer will be won by people - people who take the time to
get involved. We are honored and deeply appreciative that
the people of the sport fishing industry - fans, anglers and
corporate sponsors, have joined us to raise funding for
essential cancer research."

The Lure for a Cure kit is now available on-line at
www.lurenet.com, priced at $14.95.

As part of the announcement of the new lure kit, The V
Foundation was presented a check for $10,000 representing
contributions derived from the sale of the first Lure for a
Cure Kit.

Also an additional $40,000 was raised for The V Foundation
from the Kissimmee-St Cloud Convention and Visitors Bureau's
annual Angling Against Cancer Benefit Dinner and Tournament.

Entering its fifth year, the Angling Against Cancer
fundraiser held each November in Kissimmee, brings together
many of the sport's top pros who attend a benefit dinner and
fish alongside local sponsors to help raise money for the
fight against cancer.

BASS FEDERATION NEWS - SPOTLIGHT ON RHODE ISLAND

We all have our days where we do exceptionally well or
extremely poorly. The skunkings and days when all goes
wrong, they are easy to forget. The special days that exceed
our expectations we will always smilingly remember.

These highs and lows we all experience in our fishing
performance, they can occur on any given day and are
irregular aberrations, albeit good or bad.

When we don't include the oddly high and low days, how
evenly do we perform on a regular basis? That consistency
level maintained across an entire season is a truer measure
for an individual or a team.

This is why wrapping up the Rhode Island BASS Team of the
Year for Joel St. Germain and team partner Mike Martin is so
impressive.

Thirty-three teams fished the Rhode Island tournament trail
this year. Out of four events, Joel and Mike had two first
places and finished third twice.

To Joel and Mike, Yamamoto baits were a major component of
their success. Over the course of the season, two Yamamoto
baits were mainstays of their arsenal.

Tips to improve your performance across the entire season
for all Rhode Islanders from BASS Federation's Joel St.
Germain, written by James Gildea, are at:

REEL REPAIR AND MAINTENANCE SIMPLIFIED ON NEW VIDEO

Finally, reel repair and maintenance techniques have been
simplified.

Lake Fork Tackle Repair, a nationally recognized source for
expert rod and reel repair services has produced a first of
it's kind video: "Fishing Reel Maintenance". This video will
quickly and easily teach any angler a fail-safe methodology
for cleaning and repairing any reel on the market today.

Connie and Tommy Kilpatrick, the proprietors of Lake Fork
Tackle Repair, run one of the most respected and successful
rod and reel repair businesses in the country. They also
offer a training program for entrepreneurs wishing to open
their own tackle repair business. Today many graduates of
this program are running their own successful rod and reel
repair businesses around the country using the very
techniques and methods now being shared in the 'tell all'
video, "Fishing Reel Maintenance".

Connie and Tommy have more than demystified the
disassembling, cleaning, repairing and reassembling of
today's technologically advanced fishing reels; even more
importantly, they've made the entire process simple enough
for anyone to learn. With the cost of today's fishing reels
skyrocketing and the cost of maintenance keeping pace, this
video will more then pay for itself the very first time its
techniques are put into use.

"Fishing Reel Maintenance" ($29.95 DVD, $24.95 VHS) does not
stop at just disassembly, cleaning and reassembly; it offers
a wealth of valuable information on the identification and
function of reel components, and how they work together. It
also includes a helpful chart of "Simple Solutions for
Common Problems", tips for general reel maintenance and a
useful log for tracking all maintenance records.

Now in their second decade of leadership in quality reel
repair services and courses for business entrepreneurs, the
Kilpatricks have decided to share their time tested secrets
with any angler who wants to own the repair and maintenance
of their reels.
