Best of all, big bold YAMAMOTO blazes down both your arms! The hottest fashion tip for 2004 is to wear the long arms sticking out beneath a short-sleeve tourney shirt. I've even seen guys cut the short sleeves off to show off the full effect of our new YAMAMOTO Long-Arm T's! No kidding, it has been done. Go Long-T's! Go YAMAMOTO! For those early and late season trips, for the walk to the winner's circle, or if you need just a bit more sun protection, our long sleeve T's are just what the fishin' fashion doctor ordered. __________________________________________________ MIGHTY JIM BISHOP CROWNED KING OF THE WEST For story with photo: http://www.insideline.net/ez-forum/ez-forum.pl?read=24795 No, he's not a pro, but Jim Bishop is "King of the West" after royally beating the West's best 120 BASS Federation anglers (the top 12 from each of 10 Western states) last week at the Federation's Western Divisional on Lake Powell. Bishop is a legend on Powell's waters. "We all knew Jim was the angler to beat on Lake Powell," said second place runner-up Dave Mehalechko. But after three days of trying their best to dethrone Jim, Bishop reigned supreme. Federation anglers compete throughout the year within their own state Federations. Twelve from each state go on to the Divisionals. There are five Divisionals in all - Central, Southern, Northern, Eastern, Western. From there, one champion from each state goes on to the Nationals. At the Nationals in spring 2005, one champion from each division, five in all, go on to the Bassmaster Classic, the Super Bowl of bass fishing, and a chance to beat the world's best pros. Bishop won the Western crown using flipping jigs and spinnerbaits made by Pepper Jigs. For more info, visit: http://www.pepperjigs.com Competing again against Bishop, the owner of Jim Bishop Painting, at the Nationals in spring 2005 will be these other nine state champs from the Western Divisional on Powell. The one who beats the other nine Westerners at the Nationals will go on to the Classic: - Arizona's Dave Mehalechko, an insurance salesman - Oregon's Dave Palmer, an electrician - California's Mike Rold, a soils technician - Colorado's Joe Conway, a general contractor - Brent Shores, a television host from Idaho - Immunologist Jay Evans of Montana - New Mexico's Bob Lechel, an environmental scientist - Washington's Paul McKenney, an auto mechanic - Univ. of Wyoming electrical engineering major Tyler Swaney Marco Rodriguez of Nyssa, Oregon, brought in a 6-pound, 10-ounce lunker to win the Divisional's coveted Big Bass award on Lake Powell. Congratulations Jim and All! __________________________________________________ THE SIMPLER SWIMMIN' WORM ~ by Russ Bassdozer If you have the new In-Fisherman June-July issue, Editor Doug Stange on page 8 says, "The swimmin' worm is an oldie, a real forgotten goodie, that kicks fish butt." You can read the article online at: THE FANTASTIC & FORGOTTEN SWIMMIN' WORM http://www.in-fisherman.com/magazine/articles/ There's a much simpler swimmin' worm rig. It's not an oldie. I improvised it just a few years ago. It's not forgotten since no one else I know has ever used it. But it is a goodie that kicks Bass Bu-Tay! Be the first on your lake to learn how to make: THE SIMPLER SWIMMIN' WORM ~ by Russ Bassdozer http://www.bassdozer.com/articles.shtml By the way, that IS me in the back of the boat on page 34 of the June-July In-Fisherman. __________________________________________________ IF IT ISN'T TUESDAY... You know you're not going to get this kind of stuff anywhere else except here in Gary Yamamoto's WEEKLY NEWS Magazine. __________________________________________________
