Wayne Gustaveson was educated in Utah, earning a MS degree in Wildlife Science from Utah State University and a BS from the University of Utah. Irrationally, Wayne roots for BYU in all team sports. His Master's thesis research and first job were at Lake Powell, where he fell in love with the complete package - fish, scenery and lifestyle.

Wayne raised a family of five as his first priority, then devoted the rest of the time to the fishery. As a result, Gustaveson is nationally noted as an expert on inland striped bass population dynamics, spawning and behavior. He has devoted 24 years to his Fisheries Management career at Lake Powell and plans to keep at it as long as it's fun. Don't expect that job to open any time soon.
