Father’s Day is more than a day of fishing
Father’s Day is when your child comes to you to have a splinter removed
Father’s Day is when you see your child fall down and know you can’t rush to help them up and then they get up on their own
Father’s Day is after food shopping, you return home and the kids find something you bought that they like
Father’s Day is showing them the same respect you expect them to show you
Father’s Day is when your child is home with you and the phone rings at 2:00 in the morning and it's just a wrong number and not that dreaded call
Father’s Day is when your children grow to understand the things you told them when they knew everything was coming true in their small world
Father’s Day is so many things and the best part is getting to share these things with that person you help bring into this upside-down world
In addition to all these things if you can find the time to share with your kid(s), whether fishing, reading, walking or just talking, make sure you do it, because I guarantee you, they will grow up all too fast.
Happy Father’s Day to all from a happy dad.
