As a bass fishing writer, sometimes it’s easy to feel ignored. Our bylines are skipped over, our words
are misconstrued and we don’t get the same recognition as the glory boys on TV, let alone the anglers.
That’s why it was nice to get some props for once.
Behold the first issue of Bass Quest Magazine, autographed for me by cover models Randy Howell,
Aaron Martens and Brent Chapman. You’ll note that each of them gives me a bit of credit for their
accomplishments to date:
Randy Howell, known for having the fastest boat on tour: “To Pete, Thanks for the fast driving tips. God
Bless, Randy Howell.”
Aaron Martens, acknowledged master of finesse fishing: “Pete you’re the dropshot king. Aaron
Martens.”
Brent Chapman, reigning Toyota Tundra Angler of the Year: “To Pete. I wouldn’t have won AOY without
your help. Thanks, Brent Chapman, 2012 AOY.”
[For the record, the general tone of their comments might have been provided to them, but I didn’t put
the exact words in their mouths, or pens.]
Mine is going to be framed and prominently displayed on my office wall. You may never get a cool piece
of memorabilia like this one, but you can subscribe to Bass Quest. Go to www.bassquestmagazine.com
and sign up today.
