Veteran tournament pro and former Bassmaster Classic winner Davy Hite has joined the Gary Yamamoto Custom Baits Pro Staff, after years of competing against Gary Yamamoto and seeing how successful the company’s lures have been.

“I’m absolutely thrilled to become part of the Yamamoto Pro Staff so I can start using Senkos, Swimming Jigheads, and the other lures myself and not have to keep hearing how everybody else is fishing them,” laughs Hite.  “I’ve known Gary for many years, and am certainly looking forward to getting to know him better in the months and years ahead.

“It’s going to be fun promoting his lures, because everyone knows how good they are.”

Hite left his job with the South Carolina National Guard and began fishing professionally in 1993.  Since then he has established himself as one of America’s most successful and well-known tournament pros on both the Bassmaster and FLW Tours and has won well over $1 million in prize money.  In addition to winning the Bassmaster Classic in 1999, he also won the 1998 FLW Championship as well as BASS Angler of the Year titles in 1997 and 2002.

He and his family live in Ninety Six, South Carolina.
