I like Kentucky Lake, but my track record there is weak at best. It’s full of bass — nearly all species in fact — but it can be fickle at times. And it’s almost always due to fluctuations in water level.
It’s that time of year again; time to head shallow for largemouth. Shad start to move shallow in late summer and the big bass will be right behind them. There are three ways that always seem to produce for me this time of year; fishing docks, flipping laydowns and fishing a topwater near grass. Let’s flesh these out.
The Bassmaster Elite Series tournament on Cayuga Lake, NY will be my third trip to this lake. Each of the two tournaments I fished here have been dominated by the Senko - this type of lake really sets up perfectly for it. There are several productive ways to fish the Senko here and all will play a big role in the event, I’m sure of it.
