Tips for California Delta Jigs & Trailers
| To: Pros@gyb.baits.com
I use double tails as trailers on jigs all year long in lakes or the California Delta and always catch big fish from 4 lbs to so far 6.5 lbs. I'm a man waiting for that toad of 10 lbs or better. Can you give me any tips for jigs and double tail trailers? I am very pleased with Yamamoto lures. - Pete Hill |

Andy "Cooch" Cuccia says:
Peter, I live on and fish the California Delta quite regularly. I have caught many fish over 10 pounds on a jig. Most of those fish have come while using pork in December January and February
The rest of the year, I will be tossing a 5" double tail grub (Series 16) in color #164 (Electric Grape). I use this on a 3/8 brown or black jig. I have caught 4 fish over 10 pounds using this combination and a bunch of sevens and eights. When using double tails as trailers on the Delta, this is the color of choice for all us Delta Rats. It just works!
