Fishing in Mexico Report
Submitted by Chief George Braswell

Team Yamamoto member Chief George Braswell thought you may like to read these reports on fishing in Mexico at Lake Bacarrac and Lake Huites this month:

Fishing Report for September 2006

Lake Huites Lodge

Lake Baccarac Lodge

The ultimate one-two punch in Mexico Bass fishing:

  1. Lake Baccarac Lodge ~ http://www.lakebaccaraclodge.com

The start of our third season is right around the corner. Our first anglers will arrive September 22nd.Lake Baccarac is currently 68% full, with the lake rising about a foot a day. The guides report fantastic fishing with the rising water and they say, topwater, topwater all day long. Last season, we had writers from both FLW Outdoors and Bassmasters at the lodge. You can read the Bassmasters article at the following link: http://lakebaccaraclodge.com/related_articles_bassmasters.htm.

Without a doubt, Lake Baccarac has more trophy fish in its waters than any lake in Mexico. No one can tell you any different. The lake has been carefully managed for the last ten years to become the ultimate trophy lake. Please go to the fishing reports section of our website to read the reports at:  http://www.lakebaccaraclodge.com/fishing_reports.htm

With our lodge on the lake and our direct private flights, Lake Baccarac is Mexico's only fly-in fishing lodge. The airstrip  has been repaired and will be able to accommodate general aviation aircraft, big and small.  Please call about our regularly-scheduled charter flights landing 15 minutes from the lodge.

  2. Lake Huites Lodge ~ http://www.lakehuiteslodge.com

Wow! No other lake in Mexico is producing the numbers of fish that Lake Huites is producing. Lake Huites finished last season producing catches and sizes we have not seen since 2002. The mid-summer fishing has been excellent. The lake is currently 110% full and still receiving rain daily. Please look at our fishing reports at: http://www.lakehuiteslodge.com/fishing_reports.html. We have sent out many letters inviting people to come back and experience the fine fishing at Huites, offering discounts to help offset the high airfare cost into Los Mochis, but also having regularly-scheduled charter flights into El Fuerte will ensure quick and convenient travel.
